“I came to FlowFit from a bit of an unusual circumstance. I was run over by an SUV while riding a motorcycle about a year ago. I sustained several injuries including a broken back and spinal trauma amongst several other issues involving surgically repaired limbs. Before my accident I practiced yoga for fitness mostly and was not necessarily in tune to its wellness benefits. So when my rehab doctor recommended a restorative and mobility yoga practice to aid in my physical recovery I was skeptical. When I started practicing at FlowFit I could barely stand on my knees. After two weeks I started to regain strength and movement in my body that I was unsure I would ever regain. My care and recovery team of doctors and therapists were amazed with my progress. Alex and her team of instructors take a warm approach that provides every student the support, encouragement, and comfort to move through their practice in a way that is right for them. And in addition to the physical wellness benefits I experienced from practicing at FlowFit, I also experienced a mood boost that was deeply needed as the long road of recovery was taking an emotional toll. FlowFit has something special going on at their studio and I am glad that I found them.”

“I am new to yoga, and didn’t really know what to expect when I first started taking classes at FlowFit.  As a guy, yoga has a somewhat negative connotation in locker rooms, and as a whole, isn’t looked upon as “manly” or beneficial to being a better athlete (WRONG!).

 

Everyone was so welcoming, from the awesome instructors to fellow yogi’s, and I instantly felt comfortable and not out of place.  The classes are fun yet challenging, and have been very humbling.  I am excited for each new class that I attend to learn and improve.  I also love the variety.  Being able to take HIIT classes that are more in line with traditional workouts I’ve done is awesome, while mixing in the different yoga classes has provided me with new challenges and a better understanding of my body and areas of improvement.  The restore classes have been especially beneficial in helping old injuries and gaining mobility and flexibility, while also helping with soreness from sports and weightlifting. 

 

For those who wouldn’t consider themselves a “traditional” yoga student, I would encourage you to take some classes and try it out.  I am so happy that I did, and can already feel the physical benefits as well as being part of an awesome community of genuinely nice people.”
