The beautiful thing about NOT being at a studio, is that you are always in control of your membership. Once you sign up, you can log into your account at any time and upgrade, downgrade or cancel your membership at any time, without the usual 30 day notice period. Because you are in complete control, once your card is charged you will not be able to request a refund for a previously charged month.
